I sent a barreled action to Jess to have it rebored
My question is for those of you who know and have dealt with
him how does he return the items?
Does he let you know they are coming or do they just show up?

I was curious is all its not that I am worried just wanting anyone's prior dealings with him
apparently neither one of you have experience with him

Call and leave a message, on the other hand in the last couple of years I have sent him a couple of lever guns and had them back from him within the week, packaged in my original packaging...he did an excellent job on my guns...
Both times that I have dealt with him, we talked on the phone, I sent the barreled action to him, and like Chief said it was back in no time- both times with a hand written note with comments, load data, and suggested bullet sizing. I don't recall a notification that it was on its way, but I can't swear there wasnt.

I am getting really excited for this
I had a Model 70 Super Grade in 30-06 that I had him rebore to 35 WHelen
from what I have read here and other places his work is outstanding
My desire for a 35 Whelen goes back to when my son bought his first rifle
a model 700 classic in 35 Whelen and after reading Elmer Keith's book
Big Game Hunting I wanted it all the more
He was quite the character and a excellent horseman,IMO his adventures on
some of his hunts are exhilarating he also was no fan of the 30-06 and I have
never been a fan myself this was my first and last 30-06 that I have owned
sorry for the ramble......

When I had him rebore 2 rifles he told me that he does not do computers or internet , I dropped mine off and picked them up , nice gentleman and was worth the 3-4 hour drive .
I just called Jess Rebore and left a message
and literally when I hung up the phone the mail truck pulled into my driveway and my barreled action was here
I can not wait to shoot it I have already ammo made up for it in 225 and 250 gr so this will be exciting
This is a fantastic site and a bunch of first rate members
thank you all without your posts I would have never thought to rebore

I would be interested in hearing how it shoots for you, and what rifling you selected. I am getting ready to send one of my 760 Remingtons to him, just cannot decide which of the 3 I have to send. Do already have a 700 cdl 35 whelen that shoots very well, just wanted a 760 in that caliber also.

Mine was done 4 or 5 years ago and took a couple weeks and was returned USPS. I give him 5 stars on quality, speed and price. I think it just showed up.
nothing but all thumbs up for Jess reboring
I have the 3 groove 35 Whelen rebore from a
30-06 win m70 and it shoots lights out
my test has so far been with 250 gr Hornady bullets
but it has proven to be very accurate with these and a
not worked up load for this rifle just a middle of the road
load and previously formed 30-06 brass
excellent results
Thank you Jess

My first "Jesse O." rebore was done on a beater Rem.760 in 30/06 ..wanted a 35 Wh. back in the days when I could still handle the down stick timber thickets in Lochsa/Selway country, rain, fog ,and (rarely )shine.. put a cheapo snow camo stock on,and one of those top of receiver Williams peeps with the aperture removed. Damn quick to get on target up close, and the 760 wasn't called "The Amish machinegun"just to be cute....
"The Eagle is no flycatcher"
just got back from the range with my 35 Whelen
I loaded up some 250 gr Hornady spire points
with H-380 and some fed gm215m magnum primers
my best 5 shot group was 1.125 with 4 in a nice .640 cloverleaf
I always seem to ruin a great group when I get one going
I am totally happy with this re-bore
