    32-40 brass

If I understand the process of brass forming using a full length sizer die for 32-40 ,while using 30/30brass as the the starting case my overall length will be somewhat shorter than the 32-40.

So what if I form 30/30 into 32 win special and then form into 32-40, will I make the case the right over all length that way?

The difference in length using the .30-30 is not significant. Form it ~ shoot it. May be prudent to anneal the .30-30 first. Go slow. Easy as pie. BTW, annealing is pretty easy, too.

Or form from the longer Starline .38-55 cases.
