    Portable backstop...

I have 60 acres out back and just made a portable backstop with (2) 3/4" backplates (170lbs each). Used an old county snowblade rack, extended the width so I could place (2) Bianchi AP-1 targets at the regulation 3' spacing and used railroad (black) stacking foam to elavate the targets to the 6' height.

It probably weighs around 500lbs and is moved with my tractor (forks). The AP-1 targets attach with springs loaded mounts at top...have an optional swing in place single target bracket.

I'm the only that will be shooting at it once it's put in place out back..(leads bullets only).

Actually had (2) of those snowblade racks, cut the other one down, spaced the legs and welded on a 1/8" steel deck. Was going to use it as a rolling welding table (have others) but decided instead to use it as a desk that weighs around 300lbs! My reloader is mounted firmly but also removable if need be.

I keep saying someday. I found a truck plow out in the woods on my property that I hope to do something with. Nice job.

    .

Nice work, but IMO a real back stop is needed behind it, in case of a miss...…….. (we all miss, at one time or another, for whatever reason)

    .

You don't need an unseen innocent passing behind the targets while shooting, parking lot or a pasture.

One thing about 60 acres in New York .... a bullet won’t miss, the property is endless and somebodies kid would never wander aimlessly by ......

Otherwise, I think it’s a pretty good start with some modifications for my 2000 acres (and a back stop) and saving some lead back.

Sorry I even posted this....who said I didn't have a natural backstop on my land. Surprised no one said the bullet splatter might hit a mole looking for grubs

I like it! I would definitely install a lead capturing trap. As for another backstop behind it of coarse he would have the sense for that. Could use dirt or logs or whatever. Well done!

LOL! I opened this with a completely different thought on what portable was. Nice bit of equipment.

Probably brought on cause most of us have seen people shooting at targets with no backstops at all.

I just figured if you went to this much trouble that you had a 'range' on your property so the portable system was to easily reclaim lead. Nice design job.

Thanks..I even have a regulation 60' mover that I designed. 12volt works wireless remote or via mechanical foot controls.
