M1 Carbine Magazine ID (not what you think)

    Hello all!

I recently acquired 2 M1 Carbine 30-round mags from a lot of 13 from GB. In the lot, I found 2 of the magazines were engraved by I’m guessing the original owner, or at least an owner.
What I am hoping for, is if someone by some miracle might know whose these are, so I can get them back to him, or possibly his family.

    Thanks

    Brian

If that is a registered cattle brand in the first pic, search the county records in the sellers state for the Frazier ranch. Good on you for wanting to do that, it may be a monumental task.

Similar, but probably not the same.

Looks like Rocking R brand. I'd forget about it and use them. The original owner could be deceased or sold his carbine and the magazines went with it. If they'd come into my possession I'd be upset that they were defaced with his scrawling.

I appreciate the input. History of USGI items is absolutely fascinating to me. The men/women/children that gave so much to provide us the freedom we have is incredible.

I’m not going to put my life into trying to solve this mystery, but I’ll do what I can.

The seller is from San Antonio Texas, so if they came from Texas, that’s a lot of brands....
