"Can somebody give some more info on the match in Winnamuca. "
It's not really a "match".
Past experience has shown VERY clearly that this is really more a social occasion than a competition. Although we do shoot some informal events, the whole scene is much more a friendly family re-union than anything else, with good conversation and plenty of great grub.
The events we shoot involve rifles for score and group, with both irons and scopes in separate divisions. There's also a long-range rifle event, fired STANDING with iron sights. This year we should be able to shoot this at 400 yards, hit-or-miss on a steel target.
Handguns are also fired for group and score. There are "team" shoots with rifle and handgun as well, with the team members drawn from a hat and shooting fast-and-furious against the clock.
ALL the "rools" are set at the Rools Kommittee meeting at the Friday-night dinner. EVERYBODY is a member of the Kommittee. Saturday evening we'll have an informal dinner, usually a barbecue or whatever at my place. Sunday's closing banquet is traditionally held at Ormachea's Dinner House, an excellent Basque-style restaurant.
This will be the TENTH annual NCBS, and nine of them have been here in Winnemucca. Come along and have a good time.
