    N540

My sweet bride picked me up a lb of N540 today. I’ve gleamed through one book (Lyman 50th) and found a load for 308 win. But that’s all, what all do you use that powder for?

    Will this help?
Unfortunately you have to scan each caliber to see if it's useful for that cartridge.

    TaylorS,

A number of years ago N540 was used by some highpower rifle competitors for heavy bullet .223 loads. Some guys swore by it but I found that N140 and N150 worked better for me. I don't compete anymore and don't know if it is still used. I did not keep my load data but suspect that it exceeded recommended loads, so I would probably be reluctant to give it out.
