Santa brought me a RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure. Even better than that, I got to spend the entire day with my peeps.

I got a new Husqvarna 450 chain saw as far as gifts go .

The real joy was finding a brand new 7×57 Savage barrel that has been lost for most of 5 years . What it was doing in Mom's house in the upstairs bedroom is beyond me . I also found another Uniflow attached to a cast bench mount . Dad's loading gear is spread around all over the place . Every time we dig into a closet or cubby we find something else .

I guess a barrel , a powder measure , and a new saw makes for a pretty good Christmas .

+1 on the Glenfiddich, friend came over for Prime Rib dinner and brought a fifth of Gentleman Jack and a bottle of Pinot Noir.

My staff bought me a membership to the local indoor range. Already have one so will be covered until April 2022.
    Keep moving forward!

I picked up my new Ruger 57 the other day. No 5.7x28 ammo to test it but the once fired and dies did get here. We had a nice Christmas. Spent another almost two hours on the phone with Verizon because they changed something on Christmas eve fixing something with my new iPhone 12 mini and I could not make wifi calls nor send texts to android phones. Very poor signal here. Long story short told me the wifi calling that I had working the last four years over three different phones was a fluke and to drive 50 miles away to a real Verizon tower and try some stuff. I tried. Ore stuff on my own and two hours later got it working again. Hah. Merry Christmas as the rest of the day was great.

I got to spend Christmas day with my sons and grandkids, had a great meal but best of all I got to snuggle with my 1 month old Grand daughter. She is a sweetie and already has Pa wrapped around her finger.

Sounds like a sweet time , seems the older I get the more I enjoy my grandkids.

Daughter's family and my wife and I have ultra quarantined ourselves for the last two weeks so we could have an indoor Christmas day together. Best Christmas ever!

Got to see grandson's face light up with a new high end fishing rod and reel, same for granddaughter with new riding boots.

Had a long video chat with son and granddaughter in HI.

Didn't need material goods to make me happy.

A wonderful dinner party with 2 dear friends on 12/23, and brunch on 12/24 with our son and our daughter and her boyfriend and their dogs. Finally a peaceful Christmas Day with my wife and our Golden Doodle and all his new toys.

Bought a few things for myself during the month:

    1. Burris 2x8 signature scope, bought on SS here.
    2. Lyman 358425 two hole, bought on SS here
    3. M1916 El Paso Saddlery holster bought on eBay

Feeling very blessed and looking forward to a better 2021 for everyone.

    Hi...
A few days ago I mentioned that my son said that a couple of my Christmas gifts were still in transit.
Yesterday he picked up from a LGS a revolver that he bought off GunBroker for me.
An unaltered 3 screw Ruger Blackhawk in .357Magnum with a 6-1/2" barrel.
This is my second 3-screw...the other is a .41Magnum which is superbly accurate.
Can't wait to get out to the gun club and see how this one shoots compared to my other three Blackhawks in .357Magnum.

The best gift possible, another day to celebrate the birth of Christ. Next, another year with my more than precious wife.

Stuff that rusts and rots and thieves break in and steal....a Merkel O/U double rifle in 8 X 60R and a fully restored 1967 Morris Minor 1000.

So, why restore a Morris Minor instead of something 'interesting' like an MGB or even an MGTD?

    I like the Merkel though

You can bring home groceries in a Minor. And at my age a Minor would be lots easier to get in and out of.

I don’t recall seeing a M. Minor since the 60’s. One of our neighbors had a red one. I remember seeing a white one around town as well. I think those are the only two I’ve ever seen. So, I would say that that a 1967 M.Minor IS interesting.

Grew up near Boston. Minors weren't as common as fleas, but there were a few around Cambridge. Always assumed that college types had brought them back after their year at Oxford. Wish cars were still as simple as they were.

Anybody ever see an MG Magnette? An older cousin was a car salesman - around 1964 or so he dropped by driving one. Let me drive it. It was nice. More upscale than a Minor. I never saw another one.

All five of us kids learned how to drive in Dad's little Morris Minor pickup. The clutch didn't release till the last half inch of travel and the brakes required pumping. No matter we were on the farm. I loved that little truck.
Just glad to be alive, I asked for no gifts( you know how that goes....)
    I got some anyway!
