I have put around 30 rounds through it, hope to try it again with the new rear sight Sunday.

Ok, some good news. I put the Ruger rear sight on and took the carbine for a spin. Fortunately, the weather cooperated with good light, no rain/snow, and just a bit of wind. This time, the carbine was shooting as good as any of my other rifles with sights, including my .30-30's.

This is how it did at 75 yards. The group in the center looks huge, but is actually three separate groups with different elevation settings. This is as good as I can do with any rifle without a scope so I am happy. The final group was with Fiocchi and tightened up noticeably compared to the rest which were Tula FMJ and substituted Hornady soft points.
