This latest rifle wears a Weaver 6X24 intended for varminting. The crosshairs are too thick and cover too much real estate on small targets at a distance. I put it on the 22lr to use at 100 yards or less. At 50 yards, the crosshairs don't cover much of the target. In fact, they barely cover a bullet hole. Aiming is no problem.
The adjustments are precise enough even though it is set up for mil dot.
I wouldn't want to use this scope for long range target or varmints, but it works well for this application.
I have a Weaver T36 with the fine crosshairs and 1/8moa dot on my bench rest/600 yard rifle and love it. I can put 3/4 inch dots on posterboard at 200 yards and that little dot rattles around inside them.

My standard rifle wears a T24 with .5 MOA dot and .25 minute clicks. Very repeatable adjustments. I still turn down to the sight setting. You get used to doing that using Leupolds. Those .25 clicks keep you from having to spin the elevation adjustment pass zero.
