I am going to be taking a look at a blued Big Boy .357. It is top eject. Is there a way to put a receiver peep sight on these rifles?

The .357 Henry is a side-eject.
The only top-eject Henry is their toggle-link Model 1860 repro (below) - all the rest (Big Boy included) are side-eject rifles, similar to the Marlin 336.

The only top-eject Henry is their toggle-link Model 1860 repro (below) - all the rest (Big Boy included) are side-eject rifles, similar to the Marlin 336.
I just wanted to add that I have the 1860 Henry in .45 Colt, and I installed the Skinner rear sight. It looks great and works even better. These are pictures from the Skinner web site, but mine looks just like it.

Williams has a less expensive peep sight that is screwed to the rear scope mount holes. If you like that one, you will love the Skinner.
I have a Williams Fool Proof on my Marlin 1894C. I like it fine. Easier to adjust than the Skinner.
If you like the all-steel Skinner, you will hate the oversized aluminum Williams.
The redesign required after Marlin stopped drilling and tapping holes for receiver sights made the Williams sight too bulky.
The older style was acceptable, but the Skinner is still better.
Henry's Big Boy .357 is not top eject. The Skinner is a good sight, but you also might look at Ranger Point Precision for a sight that mounts in the scope mount holes of the Big Boy. I have both on Marlin's and like the Ranger Point a little better. Williams also makes a sight that uses the rear scope mount holes and is strictly 'on top' of the receiver, the WGRS.
Isn't there a tang mounted sight someone makes for the Henry as well? I seem to recall seeing one, but don't recall the maker.
The Skinner sight is all-steel (unless you want this brass insert) and very durable.
The Williams is cheaper and aluminum, and the fine-thread set screws are prone to stripping in the aluminum holes.

I own several Henry rifles and the skinner peep sight is a great addition.
I have had a few Skinner peep sights. They are well made, but if your rifle is not just perfect shooting from left to right (windage) the Skinner looks bad and not very adjustable. I have 11 lever guns. If they sport a peep sight it is always a Williams. Not the model shown in a previous post but the FP style. The Williams are a little more Bulky on the side of the rifle but a heck of a lot better for adjustability and a very solid sight. Plus on most rifles you will not have to change the front sight out. The only rifle I have a Skinner sight on is a 1978 9422 Winchester, works well and looks great on that rifle. But as is with all the Skinner sights I ever used I had to change out the front sight as well. That I do not like to do.
If it is top eject rifle you have to use a barrel peep unless the receiver is side drilled for a Williams and or the top of the receiver is drilled. I would not due this to any rifle. Buy one that mounts in the barrel and Skinner would be the best for that.
This is the Winchester with the Skinner, but it is side eject.

The only receiver sight that I ever liked until the Skinner was the all-steel, side-mounted Lyman 336 Marlin/1894 Winchester model, that was available until sometime in the 80's.
Not cheap, they cost probably double what a Williams cost, but they were machined steel throughout. If you ever find one in good shape, snap it up. Well worth it.
Back then, I would match them up with a Marbles gold bead front sight of the correct height, which is far superior to the Marlin blackened cast brass front sight used then and now.
The side-mounted, click adjustable Williams was a good sight, but not as good as the Lyman. The top-mounted one of today is too bulky IMHO.

actually the top mount is not really bulky at all it is about the same. It still allows the sight to be adjust all the way down to the receiver. The Lyman of old are very, very nice and very, very expensive to purchase used.

I have Skinner Express receiver-mounted peep sights or tang sights on my lever guns, but Ranger Point Precision sells a receiver peep as well. Should be a little lower than the Skinner, making it less likely that a taller front sight would be needed. I always change the front sights, anyway, because I don't like the large brass bead front sights, only small brass bead or post. But that's just me.
