I probably wouldn't have passed up on that one either.
I have 7 of them , but could use one more.
    Nice find.

With the exception of the sights, green fiber optic, it's similar to one in the safe.
For that price, I wouldn't have passed it up either. Nice

Does that stock have an oil finish? I'm not seeing the normal sheen, which I've removed on all of them.

    Ron,

How many of those barrels do you have stashed away?

IMO, that happens often enough to rate as a buying pandemic...….

It actually is a kit gun. It has a oil finish.

There is a narrow market for these rifles and they are all over.
But I get the used ones really cheap.
Then I build a good rifle out of them , in the caliber I want.
They come out cheaper in the long run then trying to build something from a kit.
But I have seen this type of rifle , in Good Condition , go for over $500.00

Minty! I much prefer that style of butt plate for a hunting gun over the skinny/pointy Hawken buttplate.

TC side-locks have excellent stock wood and inletting.
The TC Hawken butt-plate is pretty mild in curvature, but the Renegade butt-plate was designed with hunters in mind.
