    60* bolt lift

Looking for a 60* bolt lift gun. Who makes them??
I know a Weatherby Mark 5 and a Browning A-Bolt. I was also told a Ruger American, but I think they are ugly. What about Sako or Tikka?? Any others?

    Buy a Weatherby Mark 5 or a Browning A-Bolt.

    What purpose?

I had a weatherby mark V deluxe in 270wm for a while a few years ago. Man it was nice.

The purpose is to acquire a rifle with a 60-degree bolt lift that appeals to the OP.

Tikka T3. If you don't mind used guns the Remington 788- but it ain't pretty either.

    Sako would be my go-to.

If one could find a Remington 788, in the desired caliber, with a magazine......That would be a good pick as well.

If I have to buy new, a 6.5 CM. If I can find used, 25-06 or 280

I don't have a purpose yet - I just want one with less recoil than my 300 Wby Mark 5

Fall 2019 I bought a Winchester XPR which proved to be very accurate. One caution about a 60 degree bolt lift/close: You lose some camming ability compared to a 90 degree lift/close.

Instead of a multi lug bolt, the Tikka achieves 60 degrees with 2 lugs by seating them at 10o'clock and 4o'clock- neat. The 25-06 has become my favorite deer cartridge due to the accuracy, light weight, and handling of the T3 Hunter. And way less recoil than the old standards- of which I've used plenty.

I have a 788. It has been at the 'smiths for a year and a half getting the 260 treatment. I never shot the donor action that was in 308.

I see no Weatherby 25-06 or 280 in this listing, but lots of others.

    Lots of 6.5 CM

I just bought a TC compass and it has a 60° bolt lift
mine is in 6.5 Creedmoor and it is scary accurate
2 different loads both shooting under 1" and two close to .500
not bad for a 200.00 gun

As with most things, recommendations can vary in price. Is there a set budget?

I personally prefer the Sako/Browning varieties but those can be from average to quite expensive.

Pretty sure my new-no-box A Bolt II Medallion 300 WSM has less recoil than your Weatherby Magnum. You’re in luck cuz its for sale over on GB.

ive got a short action mark v in 240 and a a bolt in 300wsm. Both work great but arent cheap. Americans arent pretty but work just fine and are cheap. X bolts are but ugly and expensive. Sakos are gorgeous and fantastic shooters but you pay for it. probably the most cost effective way if you want a good looking good shooting 60 degree gun is a used A bolt.

    I haven't priced the M85 yet. I'm ok with $6-800 for an A bolt.
Is your WSM a Medalion? If I go Browning I'd like gloss and engraving

no its a hunter. Has ugly light wood. But its a light handy gun if you need a 300 mag and have to carry it all day.
