    Beans

    This isn't a recipe and doesn't even involve cooking but;

    Who likes Cold Baked Beans?
I mean right out of the can.
Or leftover beans from the fridge ?

My Girls think I'm nuts. But I've been eating them that way since I was little.

I've eaten them right out of the can, they are better hot, but good enough. Got started eating things that way in the Boy Scouts, too hungry to wait for it to cook.

I’ve always preferred Pork and Beans served refrigerator cold. Don’t like them hot, at all.

And another thing- how can those be called “Pork and Beans”? There’s darn little pork in them, and what there is, is pork fat. Seems to me they should be labeled “Beans with Sauce and Pork Fat” in the name of accuracy.

Me , Me , Me... I can eat them out the can and have made more Cold Baked Bean Sandwiches , on white Wonder Bread with mayo , than you can shake a stick at !
My wife used to kick up one of those big cans of pork-n-beans with extra brown sugar , mustard, ketchup and a pound of Bacon, bake it in the oven ... good warm or cold but I still like a cold baked bean sandwich the best !

I keep small cans of Bush's baked beans in the pantry for a quick lunch ...pop the top and eat with crackers right out the can...use a plastic spoon and you don't even have to wash any pots , pans , dishes or spoons ... Now you can't beat that with a stick!

I didn't know you were supposed to heat them.
    Nobody told me that.

And I thought I was the only one who ate cold bean sandwiches. Keep a can in the tractor cab, and a P-38 on the key ring.

With a slice of sweet onion and some salad dressing on whole wheat bread as a sandwich.

I like old baked bean sandwiches also. Slice of baloney, ham, bacon or canaditan bacon. Have to be cooked and then cooled for them to be thick enough. I also used them for chip dip with thick cut potato chips in the evening.

Never heard of beans on bread but I ate plenty of pork and beans cold or right out of the can with rippled potatoes chips.

Used to be in the National Guard. When we went on an FTX(Field Training Exercise), we had C-Rats or MRE's. Wasn't interested in those. Take a small can of tuna or chicken, Ranch Style beans, Green Beans, and fruit in my ruck. Pork and Beans, if no Ranch Style available. Eaten cold, good eats.

My grandfather was a lot more refined in his approach. He would puncture the lid and set the can in a pan with hot water in it on the stove to heat up the beans. My grandmother did not approve. I thought it was pure genius. Hot food and no dishes to wash.

When working ground all day I took a can or 2 of pork and beans with a spoon with me. wired one to the manifold about 10:00 poked a hole in the top and set an old lid on top ( kept the dust out. About 10:30 11;00 lunch was ready. did the same again about 1:30. Guys in the warehouse at campbells would do that on the propane lift trucks also. Most soupd werent good for this as they were condensed and needed water added. But Pork a beans, spagetti, chunky soups were all fair game

Pork and Beans, good cold. Baked beans, not so much. It has to do with the sweetness, in my case. Backed tend to be sweeter.
