    Precision Reloading

When I got my 8 gauge Tom Armbrust told me he had a deal going with WIN for new 8 gauge hulls and they’d come thru Precision . So I got on the horn and told them how many I wanted . At that time projected delivery date was late June 2020 . Well I was perched in a treestand this morning at about 8:45 AM when I noticed I had a call coming in from Precision . Turns out the hulls arrived this week . So my 8 gauge hull needs are finally satisfied ! Few months longer than anticipated but it’s all good .

Not to terribly fast most of what I load are 1 1/2 ounce . I do have some I’ve gotten from other folks that are 2 - 2 1/4 ounces . But I have no intentions of loading that heavy .

Technically VA has no game season where this thing is legal . I can however use it during damage control or similar not game type things .

    That's cool.

In the old days, my buddy and I would gather 'cool things to shoot'.
get a junk lawn mower or washing machine running and shoot it, old commodes, just whatever we could find in the trash.
That 8 ga. would be the weapon of choice for those events.

I shot a round of trap with Brutus a week or two ago . I was shooting up all the 2 1/4 ounce #7 1/2 loads . I was straight thru the first 17 but missed three in the last eight !!! I was getting tired picking that 14 pound brute up . The recoil even with the 2 1/4 loads isn’t that bad , the lugging that joker around is a different story sometimes .

The gentleman I bought Brutus from in Tucson has used him to kill Rio Grande , Merriams and Osceola Turkey . Also used him in AZ for the Eurasian banded dove since they’re considered a nuisance species . I won’t say where but I expect during my tenure Brutus will kill a deer and an Eastern turkey .

The neatest thing about this purchase deal whatever you care to call it is the price I was given today was about 1/5 less than the initial price I was given six months ago !

We have a customer that comes in the shop (gunshop) about once a month . Four or five years ago he was heavy into H&R Buffalo Classic 45-70’s . I think he spring the action on three of them . He made some butt stomping loads with some big Barnes bullets that were actually made for the 458 Win Mag pushing them with H322 or RL10x and he’d shoot at bowling balls to see explosions and or penetration . This guy had no intrest in hunting just in destruction with the gun he ruined LOL’s . I think his firepower would be better for destroying stuff .
