    cast in 350 Legend

I am looking in to building an AR-15 in 350 Legend, I have seen a posting on here about using the Lee C359-200RF it was a thought to me because Lee molds drop small in my experience that would easily allow me to size down for the 350 Legend .
the bigger price tag way I was thinking is call Tom at Accurate mold I think he cold pull it off.
I am thinking my 220 Gr, mold for my 35 Whelen would be a bit much.
I am looking for thoughts experience or hoping for better ideas with first hand knowledge

I understand the 350 Legend has a bullet of .355 and the Whelen is .358 so I see no problem sizing down your Whelen cast. From what I remember of the AR from when we could own them, they could be problematic with cast diameter. I have used 357 and 358 cast in a 9mm no problems. I would not be surprised to find your 350 would love 357 cast assuming they chamber. Regards Stephen

There is a few threads running about this topic.

Sizing down to fit is what we casters do so no worries there.

I have a few MP molds that I like allot! There profile is near identical to that LEE 200. (Thats a copy of the RCBS 210 fp) One MP is a 220 and can be HPed.

I used that bullet in the Legend on a deer this season and it works like a charm.

    Good luck,

Yes, the Lee C359-200RF works very well, COWW with homemade gas checks took 2 deer this fall. Both boolits went through both shoulders, both lungs, took two leaps and crashed in a heap. This is a very nice boolit!

My Lee 200 weighs 217 gr in 97/1.5/1.5 alloy, the NOE clone goes 220 even. They both work well in my 357 Herrett and 35 Remingtons 1500 to 2100 so can’t see any reason the 350l wouldn’t work. As far as feeding in an AR, I have no idea.

Depends upon what bullets your asking about!

In Jacketed: I shoot 140 FTX bullets resized .356 just under 2400 fps. 180 SSP Hornadys Just over 2000 fps & the 165 FTX is going 2240 ish.

    In cast I like the MP 359-220 @ 1475 ish, RCBS 180 @ 1800 fps and a 190 Lee RD GC @ 2100 fps.

My barrels are 16" & 20". I dont see large or even normal (normal is about 40 fps a inch) velocity gains even with 4" extra barrel.
