    Win 94 444marlin rifling

Hope this is the right place for this.
Was wondering if Winchester ever had made a micro groove barrel in this round, or something similar, as mine has 12 groves, that are .075”. I’m going to be using a lee 310 boolit, what would be the velocity limit be with this unit. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    .

    Nope. I've had both a .444 M-94 20" carbine and a .444 M-94 Timber Carbine 17" ported bbl - and they had Ballard-type rifling.

Keeping in mind the centuries-old rivalry between Winchester & Marlin, plus the fact that Marlin held the patent for Microgroove (named) rifling makes your question a non-starter.

I had no idea that 94 Winchesters were ever made in .444 Marlin. Live and learn.

I know we’re talking the Model 94 444 carbine here but my 100th anniversary Model 94 44 magnum SRC most has what appears to be a micro groove barrel (12 lands and grooves).

Don’t know if it’s a micro groove or not but it’s certainly “multi grooved” for sure.

Have a Winchester 94 legacy with a microgroove barrel. Slugs .430” and shoots casts bullets extremely well.
Sized .431” or .432” doesn’t seem to matter
