    Not Cast but happy anyway!

This one offerred me a shot today after I returned from hunting the pecan bottom with cast bullets in my 38-55. The only sure shots offered there were on illegal bucks; the does stayed out of range. This 9 point chased a doe across my hayfield and then stopped at 220 yards. I had one chance to get him with my 25-06- so I did. I was down to two packs of venison in the freezer, thank you Lord.

Congrats, nice deer! I note you drag your deer most exactly like me, except mines orange. He might still be crunching acorns if he had not gone chasing after that doe, just saying.

I need one of those tractors for Elk hunting. My back still hurts from one that I shot 10 years ago.

Glad you were able to cope with shooting jacketed. The better accuracy, flatter trajectory, reduced wind drift and more predictable expansion over a range of velocities make shooting cast so much more superior....or did I get that ***-backwards?

    Nice buck BTW!

Nice deer I tried my deer cart this year field was solid and cart rolled great make the job very easy, Not sure how it will do in a wet field hard to beat a front end loader.

87 gr Speer Hot Cor 3300 fps 2" exit hole after pulping the heart and lungs.. I could get by with just jacketed and I did for 40 years, but home cast at close range is thrilling as well. The cull buck I took a few years back with a remolded wheel weight from my 30-30 at 50 yards excited me as much as the 8 point I took at 315 yards with a 117gr Sierra from my 25-06 even longer ago. Ive killed a truckload of deer with one shot each from 22-250s so I do appreciate jacketed bullets. The only reason I led with an apology is because this forum is named "Hunting with CB's "

Boys I'll tell you what. I haver not had a place to hunt for about 10 years or so. I would love to have the chance for my back to hurt from dragging a deer. Congrats to you who are able to hunt. I'm not physically unable to hunt, just no place to go.

Congrats to you who can and have gotten a deer or more this year.
