    Brother Ban....I'd gladly pay Buckshot 10 times what you just said for that rifle and I have a feeling I might have to up the bid before others tried to outbid me if they heard that rifle was available.

    ................I certainly do appreciate all the kind remarks about the project. One thing to remember is that it is very easy to be absolutely fearless in "Sportsterizing" or "Improving" a firearm that only set you back about $40 to begin with. Buying the barrel, and paying a gunsmith to thread, chamber, and install the barrel easily cost about 3 times the initial purchase price. Probably much more, but that's all long gone under the bridge now.

    RTI is currently selling those same Steyr rifles for $399 and up for the ones they brought in from Ethiopia last year and those aren't in nearly the same shape as Buckshot's donor rifle.
