    Another "What is it" thread

I've had this for some time, and it's been on my desk holding pens for it's tenure here, but I'm certain that wasn't it's original purpose. I'm not posting this as a teaser where I actually know what it is, I genuinely have no idea. It was in a box of random junk at a flea market, and the seller didn't know anything more about it, he wasn't sure where he got it, probably an estate sale. The box contained nothing else that was easily identifiable as related.

Height is about 1.6" diameter about 2.4" center hole is 1.050" and the 9 holes around the perimeter are .480". The material is bronze or brass.

Reminds me of a LeMatt cylinder but wouldn't be brass.

We go through life trying to make the best decisions we can based on the best infomation we can find, that turns out to be wrong.

Round thing with holes in it?
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,

That is a magazine for the Asperly Aimless.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.
John Taylor - "African Rifles and Cartridges"

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Part of a hydraulic pump. Similar to what's in a zero turn trans axle.
