Tomorrow at 6:45 AM (Eastern Time) I will be going in for cataract surgery on my left eye - lens removal and lens replacement - and the right eye on the 20th of November. For Thanksgiving I will be without glasses since I was nine. This laser surgery will also take care of my glaucoma when it is done.
I have many people praying for me, but more the merrier!

Wayne, I had the exact same laser assisted cataract surgery with the glaucoma procedure about six months ago.
The day after surgery my vision was 20-20 uncorrected! I see iron sights like a 20-year-old again.
IOP is well regulated with a generic eyedrop and no more headlight dazzle so I can drive at night again. I pray yours comes out as well.

I had cataract surgery in both eyes a year ago, I wore glasses for 55 years. I ended up 20-20 and I am back to using my iron sights. Will remember you in prayers and hope you do well.

Wayne, I had my surgery right at a year ago this month. I'm pleased beyond words at the result. That regimen before and after is a bit of a PIA, but brother, it's so worth it!! Blessings to you on your procedure.. all of us pray all the best for you.

Back home from the first one. Had an honest MD - he put me on anti and pro biotics because he said he did not trust his autoclave! Wants me back in post-op at 4PM rather than tomorrow AM. Only a little discomfort in that eye now as expected. Not walking straight yet thought.

Had my right eye done about fifteen years ago. Still good vision. Hope the next one does as well; it should.

I missed the surgery time but I'm sending prayers for quick and complete recovery with much better vision. Already praying for success on 11/20 also.
Just a question? Do those who have had the cataract surgery done, have both eyes set up the same, or one for distance, and the other for close? I have heard that some shooters like to have their dominant eye set for front sight focus. The brain compensates for everyday vision with this setup. I have shooting glasses that do this for me. I have advancing cataracts. Not quite bad enough for surgery yet, according to the doctor, but I am looking ahead.
