What's the Difference in a Gator check and a regular check?

Does one have any advantage over the other?

    Thanks.

What do you consider a regular check? example? then we can compare what the differences are. All checks are a little different in thickness, whether they slip on, or are pressed on or if they have a thicker cup edge that can bite into the check shank. Can't answer your questions as asked. Gator is just another manufacturer of gas checks.

Sage sells their checks and Gator checks, both or which I've used often. I understand Hornady checks actually have a inner ridge that bites into the shank, but I've never used the Hornady's.

The Sage and Gator just crimp on with no other special attributes, however they do a fine job for me. No other difference except Sage's typically run $1 or so less and come in more thicknesses.

I often wonder how Hornady gets that little lip formed on the check.

Gator is a brand name, they are made by Larry Blackmon.

So when you ask a question like "What's the Difference in a Gator check and a regular check?"
It's kind of like asking a "Ford or Chevy" question.

My opinion, on either question is, I find they work equally well for my needs.

I didn't mean this question to be difficult to understand. I think we all would assume a "regular" check to be a commercial check such as a Hornady. Someone else mentioned that Sage's has a copper check, and a copper Gator check.

    A "regular" check would
