Anyone have any ideas where to find a replacement beam other then checking ebay every day in hopes something shows up? RCBS and Ohaus won't even talk about them.

When it's time to fight, you fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's Ark.... and brother, it's STARTING TO RAIN!!
Doubt if you're going to find a replacement beam unless you run across another damaged 10-10 with an intact beam. I broke one several years ago...cat knocked scale off shelf...and RCBS gave me a really good deal on a 'refurbished' 10-10. I sent in my old scale (along with payment) and had an 'as-new' 10-10 within ten days or so. IIRC, cost was around half of retail on a new scale.

I had the opposite search a while back, I did a trade and received a 10-10 with the rear feet broken off. I was able to patch together a good fix to get it back into operation. Parts are becoming harder to come by already.
Also look around for a 5-10 scale. The beam is the same but does not have the pin for the add on weight.
Good luck..
I was wondering about the beam on the 5-10 being the same except for the pin. Thank you for that bit of information. At least it widens the scope of the search a bit.

OK roysha, I have in my spare parts, a 1010 beam with a 1010 base (plastic). That's all. Interested? But it's a Lyman. Beams may be the same.

Well rats, my 74 year old brain is a tad fuzzy. I just dug it out, it is a Lyman 1000, not 1010. I've never had an RCBS scale so I'm not sure the beam is the same. I believe both were built by Ohaus. Take someone smarter than me. I thought I could help. Check it oiut.

They are not the same. The Lyman is calibrated in five grain per line, and the 1010 in ten grains per line. The Lyman has a straight part and a slider for 1-5 grains, the 1010 has a cylinder that spins for 1-10 grains.

There is no 'right' that requires me to work for you or you to work for me!
Yes, later I looked the pictures of each scale up. Hoping I could help but, no.

I can’t get the photo to upload but I have a Redding balance scale you can have. Just send me your info if interested. Email if you want the picture.
Thanks
