    AR cleaning kit

What's your opinion of the best AR-15 (5.56 caliber) cleaning kit?
I need something to carry in the field, I have the things for use in the shop.
    Thanks.

I dont know about the best, but I prefer the GI issue kit. I prefer fixed buttstocks and it fits in the "trunk". Plus you can knock out a stuck round with the rod- hard to do with a bore snake. To each his own, though.

I use Otis kits for everything.

Don't like their round patches, though...I use Southern Bloomers folded into a triangle.

+1 for me. A thread adapter for use with standard brush/jag tips is also readily available. I use the GI 5.56 kit + 1 extra rod section when hunting with all rifles 22 - 45 caliber. Wouldn't be with out it in the field.

A Dewy coated rod and commercial brushes/jag for the bore. USGI chamber brush on a USGI one piece rod for the chamber.

My A2 rifle has a field kit in the stock, but I’ve never used it.

+1 on the GI kit or clones (coated rod preferred), convenient pouch, nothing fancy & it works in the range or in the field.
