    Half Jackets

Should pistol bullets swaged with half jackets be tumble lubed? As lead is exposed to the rifling I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea.

It wouldn't hurt anything, but there's no need for it either. Try them both ways, and then you decide.

I tried trimming the cases (jackets) a little longer so they come up to the shoulder
or ogive of the bullet, keeping the lead from touching the bore. Still a lot of lead
    nose sticking out.

Or you could powdercoat before swaging I guess.

I made some 38 125 gr half jacket bullets and the ogive started at the beginning of the half jacket so no lead contacted the bore.
