As a replacement for 4759, I recommend either that old standby, 2400, or else the afore-mentioned RL-7. But I use a lot of 748 in mine. The RCBS 30-180 FN over 30 grains is very accurate, and is what I use when hunting with the 30-30. For funsies, the 311-465 or 311-466 with 17.5 grains of 2400 is hard to beat.

Look for dogmower's new post; he wants to sell 6 lb of 4759.

Same bullet R-15 powder 28.5g and 31.5g were the sweet spots for me. I am using S&B primers since I bought 5 bricks when they were $19. Nice full case so no filler needed. Shoots well in both of my Savage bolt actions and mossberg and marlin lever action.

10 gr of Unique may be lower vel than you're looking for but it is the go to for me in the .30 WCF, 171 NOE and .32 Win Spl, 178 NOE. Although Universal is not an equivalent to Unique, in this application 10 gr Universal gave the same results. Using 150 gr JFP boolits 37 gr BL-C(2) is my sweet spot. We shoot lots and lots of .30 WCF and .32 Win Spl. Tried to buy .30-30 ammo lately?

I use 11.0 grains Unique in my cast loads and 3031 for j-words.

I have been real happy with a 150-175 gr bullet and 15 gr of WC 820.

When I had my Win94 I used 4895 and Blue Dot. Used the Hodgdon table for reduced loads with the 4895 and 170gn cast or jacketed. Used small loads of Blue Dot and 170 cast for plinking.
