The Winchester 1894 in .32-40 getting it done.

Tonight the most recent old timer of mine, I just got it about three weeks ago, an 1894 Winchester in .32-40 got it done tonight. Shot this 5 point buck at about 50 plus yards, went a couple hundred yards, bleeding like a stuck pig all the way in the snow before he gave up the ghost. Not bad for an old gun made in 1909.

    Good evening and Congratulations !
Happily you had a nice white ground cover to help track him down.
Did you smack him in the neck ?

Yes, he didn't give me much of a shot so I took him in the neck, little off the spine but he was bleeding bad from where I did get him. Just shows how tough whitetails really are.

Aw, come on! You need a .338-378 super whiz-bang mega-magnum with a 30 inch barrel to kill a deer....dontcha know?

    Nice job!
