    Handloader magazine

    Anyone collect them????
    Have every one?????
I'm always on the look out for ones I don't have.
    Very few here collect them.
I go on evil bay sometimes, just to see if any there I don't have.
    Prices are borderline ridiculous.
Friend, who moved to Tennessee, and I were the only people I knew who collected them here.
When either of us would find a stash, we would help fill in missing ones.
Have 137 holes in my collection.
The old ones were kind of strange to me.
Kind of like a club news letter.
I stopped buying the new issues a while ago.

I would collect them if I had some other than new ones. I do collect handloader digest, gun digest, and now, guns and ammo annuals. Not only do I collect them, I read them.

I have them all, except#249. It got shredded by a momentarily unsupervised Lab puppy. Bought the first few issues at a local gun shop, then subscribed. Also have all issues of Rifle Magazine. They are a good reference, although the publishers have dumbed them down over the years. Still better than most gun magazines.

Yes, have them all up to most recent issue. Sadly, when Precision Shooting went down several years back, Handloader and Rifle were about the only things left. Have AR complete back to the early 30's and ST from its inception up thru late 90's when it became uninteresting.

I've got all the print issues of Handloader. Acquired the older ones from various sellers incl. Ebay. Been a subscriber for approx. the last 20 years.

I've got a weakness for complete collections of various publications. I finally quit subscribing to Fine Woodworking last year. When various magazines started selling DVD's of all back issues, the value of such collections dropped significantly.

I don't collect them but I guess I hoard them as a better term. I have close to all Handloaders & Rifles from the early days (ie issue #1 on) - unorganized of course. I have all Handloader & Rifle magazines from the last 15 years or so. I plan to organize & sell them all someday. What I've noticed on fleabay is that sellers ship the magazines via USPS media mail to keep postage cost down. BUT according to USPS, any media that contains commercials or ad's are not eligible to ship via Media-Mail. Just FYI...

A nice guy from our local club gifted me a bunch of Handloader mags dating back from the 70s I believe.
    Worth the read...

I've got a nearly full collection, up to a couple of years back, and about a fifteen inch stack of duplicates. I'll put together a list of the duplicates. Eventually I'll sell the main batch.
I too bought the DVD set and a couple of fill in years on DVD.
What I'm wanting to do, and haven't figured out how yet, is OCR the text so I can search easily. The ads get in the way.

They would sell a lot more at a reasonable cost. I understand it costs money to digitize them but it’s a one time expense. And from what I understand it’s not searchable by keyword which it makes it less useful. It comes down to selling a little for a lot or a lot for a little. They have chosen the former.

The older issues of Rifle, Handloader,American rifleman, Precision shooting and Accurate rifle Always had good articles like DIY gunsmithing, builds, projects.Precision Shooting I have from about 1995 till it folded along with the Accurate rifle. American Rifleman is nothing like it used to be. More advertisements than anything. Have #1 from Handloader and Rifle magazines but stopped getting it as it to was devoid of projects. Same for Gun Digest. Have many of the ones from the late 80's but too expensive for what you get. So stopped buying it. Funny thing, when I was in the navy finding gun magazines in stores was easy so every so often would box them up and mail them home. When I came home on leave would read and save the articles and stick them in file folders. Still have a bunch but as interests change would cull the ones I no longer have any interest in. Frank

I've subscribed to it a few times over the last several years but I always let it expire. Keep thinking I'll find something new but that doesn't happen often enough to justify the cost. Mostly the same old thing! I just used a few decades of them for a wet newspaper backstop!
