Magazine release spring for Colt Woodsman .22

My current rescue project is a very rusty Colt Woodsman .22

I need springs for the magazine and the magazine release. Anyone know who carries these. (wolfe does not)

    Thanks

Try Jack First gun parts 605-343-9544 or Bob’s gun parts in Arkansas.

Brownells used to sell a coil springs kit that had springs in it from the dia. of a pencil lead to 1/4 inch and enough length that you could cut it to fit. I bought one years ago and have used different springs on several different firearms that I needed a coil spring for.
The springs are quality American made and will hold up.

I may have the mag release spring from old woodsman. It’s not a coil spring, it may be out of a model to old for your gun.

    Which Colt Woodsman ??
There are three type of magazine releases used thru out production

Pre War, has the small latch on the bottom, this one is a odd duck, as the latch is riveted onto a leaf spring that is also the sear spring

Post War has the 1911 type latch, small coil spring type

Late models has the larger latch on the bottom, this one has a Vee shaped flat spring.

You could measure the old magazine coil spring, and get the wire OD and the spring OD and check that against the general light duty springs Wolff offers
