Anyone save the Brian Pierce New Vaquero level 11 23,000 psi 45 colt data?

Apparently rifle magazine load data doesn't go back that far with their magazine articles on their website anymore. If someone has it can they post the article for me?

I had that article saved on my computer, and one day I clicked on the link and it was gone. They did something to deny access.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

I’ll post the one Frogleg sent me. It’s a different one than the article I was thinking of using a 285 grain boolit that was loaded around a 1000 FPS and under 23,000psi. Frogleg, do they have an OAL listed for these loads?

It was hand loader magazine number #246

I called and Wolf publishing Co. will sell me the magazine with the article in it for $10. I was hoping someone downloaded and saved the article to save the time and money.

This was the link everyone posted for it. It just goes to the a wild Website now...

    http://www.riflemagazine.com/magazin...246partial.pdf

I went in their website and saw the cover. It says April 2007 a d has two super RedHawks on it.

There is also a rifle #246 magazine but I am Guessing it’s in the handloader issue.

Issue 246 was for the 45-270-SAA Solid Bullet. Do you have a load data account? If so just look up 45 Colt and a 280 grain bullet. 20000 PSI Loads

I don’t have a load data account. If someone dose if they could please look up 255 grain and 280 grain boolits at 20,000 cup? I have some group buy group buy .452” 275 grain HPs that I casted up before selling off the mold. They’ll be 280 grains by the time I GC and PC them.

I’m sure there’s many other posters here that are appreciated your help as well. Thanks again!!!

What’s interesting is the VV- 3N37 at 11 grains and only 14,000 PSI. Most the 20,000 CUP load don’t get that much velocity. A powder I have never seen on the shelf anywhere Since I started reloaded 20 years ago.

I have these i cased up from our group buy before I pawned off the mold. I casted up about 15 pounds of them if I had to guess. I was disgusted with my 450 for the master bolt action because it wouldn’t feed so the mold went away. They are on average about 278 grains if I remember so with a GC I’m sure they’ll be 280 grains. I casted them up in 50/50 at 10.4 Bh. I figured they would work good for the loads above. Hopefully enough velocity and energy for deer hunting out 100 yards at a 1000 FPS MV.

I tested a few out of in line muzzle loader last year. They are clear PC’d.

So food for thought...I would assume a 14,000 load with a MV of 1000 FPS is going to have exact same felt recoil as a 1000 FPS, 20,000 CUP load with all other things equal other then pressures?

    Thanks
I won’t order powder on line because of the expensive haz mat costs.

I went to my LGS today. They had one pound of HS-6 left for $26.99, one pound of tite group left for $21.99, and four cans of universal for $26.99 each. I rolled the dice and bought the HS-6. I read a few posts that shooters were getting good accuracy with a 13 grain charge and a 280 grain cast boolit.

I’d like to try 255 grains with HS-6 tier 2 loads but can’t find any listings. Can I use the 280 grain data?

I did load up a ladder test from 12 to 13.5 grains with the 280 grain HP. They are 50/50 alloy, PC, and GC. Loaded to 1.650” when I crimped them the boolot is seated deep enough that it just looks like a taper crimp.

Whoops, guess I should have read the load data frogleg sent me. Looks like 12.5 grains of HS 6 is the max with a 255 grain boolit to stay within 19,000 psi. Weird that I can use 13.5 grains with a 280 grain boolit and only 12.5 grains with a 255 grain boolit for some reason???
