Why is the floor wet??? That Darn MITTENS!!!

Our cats have an automatic watering bowl. Basically a clear half gallon jug that sits on top and lets water into the bowl when the level gets low enough. When that happens, it makes a glug glug sound.
Yesterday I was sitting in the office and I heard the glug glug sound. I turned to see Mittens attacking the clear jug trying to get the air bubbles floating up inside. I laughed and then saw he take her paws and start splashing water out of the bowl to make it do the glug glug thing again. I tried to get a video but all I could get was her sitting and staring at the bowl.
When I told my wife, she went and picked Mittens up and sure enough, her paws were wet and there was water on the floor.
I just hope that she doesn't figure out the toilet handle.

Hmm, that is better than the other source of cat "water".

We had a cat that would reach up inside the water bottle to chase the bubbles....made a terrible mess and ultimately caused us to get rid of the bottle. It was funny watching it, though!

    They are fun to watch.

We had a cat back in the 80's that was fascinated with the aquarium.
She walk by, see a fish swim close to the glass, it'd catch her eye, and she'd swat at it a few times.

Right up until you have company, they bring some dirty laundry out into the living room, and start playing with it.

Yep. Can't remember a time, except for a few times in my life where I've had to live as a geographical bachelor because of the Army, when I haven't had at least one around. I just can't even imagine a house without a cat.

I had one of those automatic waterers until Tigger figured out he could make it glug by splashing all the water onto the floor... he liked water, would swim, he walked into the shower when I was in there to have his fur shampooed(I kept special shampoo for him and his dry skin...). 3AM and walking into a gallon of water barefoot in the bathroom sucked.

Ahh,,,, seeing this thread just made me smile. A lot.
We've had a "fun" couple of days,, with the storm causing power outages all over. Trees down, generator decided to quit, no power & all made my last 2 days challenging.
Yet,, just like Mittens,, our cats do things to amuse us.
So,, seeing this thread,, I had to laugh,, and I really needed a good laugh!

PS; We have cats that prefer to drink from a running faucet.

I got Francini a water fountain here (when in the hoarder house she was treated horribly, I gather there was never fresh water. She's a rescue.) She is now pretty relaxed about water but was understandably neurotic at first, even knocking over my quart mug to get liquid herself, annoyingly often. And begged for me to run the faucet if I even looked like I was going to get up, silly girl!

Linda started off never drinking but now drinks regularly, I guess she learned

I had a cat who the landlord played with, with the hose, while watering her garden; He'd bat at the water stream. She kept offering to take him off my hands! They can be such unique furry friends

You remember the 'billy' bass? Just saw a commercial where they make one for cats now. Doesn't talk, just wags the tail fin.
    Whatever!

I was walking into the gym last night & saw a tuxedo cat with a collar on that came up to me playfully for a quick ear scratch. It reminded me of Mittens! So I was wondering, how is she doing?
