    Quick Easy Portable Brass Catcher

    The system consists of 3 components ;

    1) wakeman collapsible and telescoping handle net (walmart part # 567048832)

    2) bottom half of a sheet music stand

    3) cut-to-length broom handle to keep the net open w/ rattle can cap screwed on end, so as not to puncture net with lots of use

    Adjust the height that works for you and blast away.
    I use it for collecting my pistol cases for reloading, works like a charm.

    I like it. Would come in very hand for those times there isn't a concrete pad to shoot from. Much easier than digging empties out of the grass.

    Clever idea. I’ve got a drum stool base from the habitat store that might work for the bottom of your creation. I’ve been using a collapsible net laundry basket clamped to my old shooting table but something that could be moved around depending on the firearm’s ejection pattern would be much more effective.

    Came up with this version of the op’s idea. Uses a drum stool base [5.00 from the thrift store], long fiberglass ramrod, a couple pieces of tubing to reduce the hole in the stand, some large paper clips and a collapsible mesh laundry basket. The mesh can be lowered to work with my bench or standing [I hope]. An easy put together. Haven’t tried it yet.

    Baltimoreed,

    Have you had much concern for your idea with wind blow-over? Any way to add maybe, sandbags over the legs or weights of some kind?

    Just keep the drum set on it.

    Now see, that's what makes this site awesome. Ya take something and improve on it. The drum stool base is much better, and the net is much larger. I have to waste a few test shots to get mine set just right. I might angle the net opening up a little to like 45 degrees to keep 'em from bouncing out. Let us know how it works out when you test it.

    This is the quickest and easiest one I have. Just have to stop by the pool to pick it up, on the way out back.
