    C&P Revolver up for Auction

Nice little cap and ball marked Hartford Pocket Model on top of barrel, 31 cal Black Powder Only on right side of the barrel, left side of barrel reads Made in Italy Dixie Gun Works, Inc. History is I purchased this at a guns show some 26 years ago. Sot 2 cylinder loads thru it, bore and chambers excellent. There is on screw on the trigger guard where screw must have been too large on the head, but whoever put it together did a nice job of blending it in see photo. The starting bid is 175.00 plus shipping will let the auction run till 6:00 P.M. Central Time the 21st of Oct.

Was that way when I bought it from a guy. He told me it was a kit from Dixie Guns, he polished it to blue it and that is as far as he got. Was in the white no blue or case hardening was ever on it

That's very interesting, because you can clearly see traces of color case hardening on the rammer
and blue on the edges of the screw heads.

A friend had one that looked exactly like this one looks now, it was somewhat dinged up, with some rust,
and he used naval jelly and sanded down the sides by putting some fine sandpaper on a piece of glass.
His stamped lettering ended up visibly shallower at the bottom of the letters and the screw head tops got sanded down flat
(instead of domed like they are from the factory), just like I see in your pictures.

    Very interesting.

Like I said, it was this way when I purchased it. Don't have any idea what the former owner did to it when building it/
It does lock up tight and cylinder gap is tight as can be seen.
Not trying to pull anything over anyone, why I posted all the pics.

When I bought it some 26 years ago it was my intention to carry it when small game hunting with a shotgun to use to finish off any critter that the shotgun blast did not. Worked great for that .

I'll bid $215. I had a late friend that had one similar many years ago. With 11 grains of 3F powder, you could watch the little .320 round ball sail down range in the sunlight. It was a hoot to shoot.
