Anyone want to start a postal match.

Perhaps we can have a postal match on cast boolits. Maybe even a monthly thing. (every month a different challenge) Hell, I'll even honcho the thing. Might even be able to get some simple prizes. For starters (if ok with admin) a special avatar celebrating your victory. (I'll design if necessary). Maybe a Cast boolits sticker or 2. Where is the enthusiasm?

Who would participate? If I get enough ok's in the next few days, I'll pursue it.

I wouldn't mind participating in at least some of them.

The problem here with a monthly event is that during the winter months many of the of the longer, developed ranges are snowed in. I can get out to a 50 yard informal range most of the year (may have to walk in some months) but longer range, bench shooting is pretty seasonal.

1-4 matches per year is probably a better plan given what people are able/willing to participate in and the amount of work involved in running each of them.

winter months we can do indoor pistol stuff. Obviously not everyone will be able to participate in every match, but I wont make it so obscure that only one person could do it. The first few times around, the prizes might just be bragging rights, but hopefully it'll get bigger and better.

I got something in mind for the Dec match, but will always be open to ideas.
Come one, come all. This is for fun guys.

We have tried in the past but have never gotten more than just a few to participate.
Much too hard to shoot them 1" hunert yard groups with a gun than with a keyboard.

Lunicy, good idea. I used to run them here every winter, but time was hard to come by. Some events had good participation, others went lacking. I do think weather has a bit to do with people getting involved.

Here is a link to some of the matches I ran, and durations.

The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

    Thank you waksupi

I injured myself to were i can't work to full capacity and I work in construction to begin with, so I have free time.

Everyone can shoot these, it's a few rounds, it's practice, and it's all for fun.

I'd be up for a bullseye pistol match in the winter or a single shot rifle match in the spring.

Easy for you to say. We will be lucky to see zero degrees on our very warmest days for the next few months. Last postal I shot that Waksupi put on it was -30F. That presents something of a handicap. Wana spot me a half moa?

I'd be willing to give it a go so long as the range was 100M or less. If the Jeep will make it past the gate at our club range, it's not bad tramping to the 50M and 100M berms but, beyond that usually calls for snowshoes or mud boots...depending upon the temperature at the time.

Would like to see another run of last year's 10M airgun postal, too.

I have been out of the loop for a while, but would participate. I have held one or two of my own a few years ago. Participation is slim, but what the heck.

    I don't have a 45-70 Yet.......

Got peestols, and rifles, scoped and un.

I need to get my ass out and shoot more. Job has been eating me up.

LOL! Every rifle I read about on the net is an MOA shooter. But apparently those guns never get to any of the ranges I frequent...

My preferred match would be 50 yard offhand 10 shot group with iron sights. But I'll try and shoot whatever lunicy sets up.

I do recall those guys who could shoot one inch groups all day with a keyboard, never did send in a target.

50 yards off hand is great. I'll use the 1917 enfield with cast.....OR the scoped Savage 308 I bought at Wally world with cast of course.

If it gets too deep (the snow ) I'll wear snow shoes.

-30? I use to go camping in that, no mosquitos and never had problems with neighbours. 50 yard offhand big bore. Sorry I can't get any groups under 1" (or 2) can I still enter?
