New to me Hi Wall arrived i 40/82 yesterday, and man she is a looker.

I traded Harry Pope on the board here a nice 38/55 JES 336 Marlin rebore in on this rifle. It is a Browning Hi Wall, BPCR with the heavy 32" half ocatagon/half round barrel. The gun started out as a 40/65, but was rechambered. It has curly fiddleback walnut forearm and stock, Case colors are good, a couple of slight rubs on the barrel blue, and a mint bore. Going cast some bullets today and load some ammo. I am waiting on a older Burris Fullfield scope to get back from repairs and mount it on the rifle. It came with scope bases and rings, no sights. For an extra $100, he threw in a Crossno .22LR barrel liner to enable me to shoot .22 out of it also. It came with about 100 brass, dies , mold and load data. I will try to send pics to TBG and get him to post.

Very nice! It is a beautiful on to take to the dance. Hope you shoot at a range where others appreciate the fine lines of a classic rifle and not getting hit by hot flying brass.

Marlin Man 93, you are correct, I was told it was one made by Badger. It is the heavy oct/round barrel, exactly like a Badger 45/70 I have on a Rem Roller, except this one is 32 or 34, where the 45/70 is 30". I have gotten 80 or so bullets cast, am putting a scope on it tomorrow, and hopefully get some ammo loaded and shoot it this weekend! The RCBS Mold was supposed to be 300gr, but with my alloy they averaged about 320grs, the ones I weighed. Gun doe not have any sights, but came with Leupy rings and bases, the reason I am putting a scope on, for now.

If the barrel is longer than 30" it is not the Badger barrel that was factory installed on the rifle. The Browning model 1885 BPCR in 40-65 Win - the only barrel offered was a 30" half octagon.

Update. I had to shim my scope to zero it, which I did at 4x, my scope is a 4x12x40 Burris full field, I have had for 30 years or so, and then turned it up to 10x and shot a 3 shot group. It tore one ragged hole about .650 in length. I stopped there and turned it over to my buddy, to shoot. I know when to stop. He is a pretty good shot, and I think his 3 shots were just a touch tighter than mine. Oh and we were shooting at 150yds! I can get pics tomorrow of the targets, they are in my shop, too tired to come in and get my phone. Getting around on a walker or 2 forearm crutches sucks, wears me out. This is one of the most accurate single shots I own, if not the most accurate. Two of my buddies have tried to buy it, I told them the would have to get with the wife, right after my funeral, cause that rifle aint going nowhere while I am above grass sucking air! The main thing that I figured out was to just bell the brass enough to seat the bullet, and no crimp, that made the groups suck up tight.

These are proof of the above tale. Mr. Koger's got a good one in looks and accuracy.

The X ring is one inch in diameter, the 10 ring is 2 inches.
