Shipping a couple of 45-70 brass.

I have a number of balloon head that want to give away for shipping.
What is the cheapest way to ship a couple of 45-70 brass and be sure they will get there undamaged?

Small padded mailing envelope via usps if just empty cases.

I usually ship small things like that in a padded envelope. I give them an extra wrap of bubble wrap. I actually make an envelope out of bubble wrap and staples that I slip into the padded envelope. And I staple the flap on the envelope down too.

Small padded envelope - if you have a piece of something like 3/4" PVC pipe - I'd cut them to light and slide the casing inside and put tape over the ends. Or - possibly push something like paper towel into the empty casing that could be fished out and then wrap in bubble wrap or a number of layers of newspaper and slide into a small bubble cushioned envelope to ship.

For just a couple cases If you can find some 5/8" or 3/4" end mill tubes to put them is they will add to the padded envelopes protection greatly. The old card boards tubes are good then newer plastic ones even better. Drills, end mills, reamers, come in these tubes and most shops throw them out. Of you have some local small machine shops stop in and ask about them, plan your visit for lunch time or end of shift so as not to interrupt them.

If you really need them protected slip them into chunks of plastic pipe and then into the padded envelope.

Put them in a piece of garden hose or PVC pipe.
Then sent 'em off in the padded envelope.
