    Ruger Buys Marlin

Seen today, 10/1/2020 that the purchase of Marlin from Remington has been approved. Scheduled closing date is 10/12/2020.
Ruger is moving Marlin tooling to their facilities.
Wonder how long until we see Marlin rifles back on the shelves in the Gun Stores.

Hope Ruger makes the 1894 44 mag rifle with a quality barrel having: groove diameter of 0.429" with a groove depth of 0.004" (not 0.4315" diameter with 0.025" deep grooves as Marlin does), AND a rifling twist of 1:20 to 24", with 4-8 grooves.

If Ruger has a rebarreling service, they will get a lot of business.

Im not. Ive returned more rugers for factory defects and problems hands down then i have marlins. Yup ive had more rugers but that said i have had quite a few marlins over the years from all time periods and havent had a bad one yet. remember this isnt the days of past where a cool guy like Bill Ruger sat behind a desk and dreamed up cool things that shouted out orders and they were turned into a reality. Its the days of bean counters running ruger with there only goal the stock holders.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Marlin lever actions go well with Ruger single actions.
