I have somewhere between 150-200 of them. I've slowly picked them up over the years here on the S&S board. Back in the late 70's I had a box of 50 Cases & Bullets. They're quiet handy and accurate enough for me up to 15' to 20' feet. I figure to eventually find a use for them around the garage when I get a proper target and backstop built for them.

NOTE: I just looked at the SPEER website. They advise to use a Large Pistol Magnum Primer to obtain between 00-400 feet per second.

Luckily for me, I came into a bargain on 3 thousand old CCI Large Pistol Magnum Primers over 10 years ago. Should make for cheaper plinking in the garage than if I were on the creek with the prices of .22 Rimfire being where they are.

they work for about 3 times
the {bullet/projectile } will be useless
the case will be burnt and not hold the primer
    thats why they dropped them

These are still available. For quick draw practice, it is a great tool. They also come in 44 cal. The new boxes are plastic and reusable. Same case, same projectile, same frailties.

Speer also made 45 projectiles for use with brass ACP cases.

I put out a WTB for some a bit ago and got a few from a member here, just haven’t had the chance to get out and mess with them. The dilemma is that they are still available but via mail order the shipping is just as much as the bullets...

These are still useful training aids. And they are fun. You don’t always need magnum primers. Every gun/ barrel combinations gives different results. A reinforced cardboard drier box works as a target holder backstop with rubber floor mats inside to stop the bullets.

These things tick me off. I tried them in my Uberti and was happy so bought and loaded a bunch. A couple yrs ago I tried them and none would fire in gun after gun. They work in the Uberti only. The other guns have no problems with regular rounds
