Can anyone identify this mystery part? It appears very well machined, and the only definite marking I can find is a “14”. Perhaps a “7” too. I love challenging the brain trust here.

Socket for SKS bayonet

Does not look like My chicom sks socket for bayonet
Does not look like My chicom sks socket for bayonet or russian .
Probably a bayonet retaining socket for a Mosin Nagant M 44 or Chinese M 53.
They made two typed of nubs on the end for the M 44.
But these match one of my model 44's as well as my M 53
LAGS wins, it appears to be a Type 2 Mosin Nagant M44 bayonet “collet” from some pictures online. Thanks everyone!
