    Lee die ID help

What do I have here? It's marked LEE 38 SPL-D2. The top of the die is threaded to accept some sort of insert, which is missing. I'm thinking it's either a sizer or a crimp die.

Run a shell into the case and find out? Either it crimps, sizes, or nothing.

If nothing happens it might be a powder thru expander.

    Hello Chuck,

I'd say it's either a Sizer or a Crimp Die.

I agree it looks like a sizer decapper die see if it sizes brass i think those would have tapered threads for the decapping rod holder
Those who would trade freedom for safety deserves neither and will lose both

I installed it on a press and tried it out. It's a seating die, as it applies a nice roll crimp when adjusted to do so.
