ISO: Lee 22 mold - 55gr flat point

    *** Found elsewhere ***

Edit: responded to Tdoor, but still need this mold. Unfortunately his mold doesn't have a short enough bullet for my 1-16" twist Hornet; the lee bullet is just as short as my 225438 bullet. Also, I traded some other stuff so I am able to purchase it outright if you aren't interested in trades below

I am finding myself in need of this mold as my round nose lyman 225438 is not effective on squirrels; I need more knockdown from the flat point bullet as the round nose was not a quick kill. Everybody seems to be out of stock, so I am turning to the experts. I can buy outright, but prefer to trade due to circumstances.

Edit: It would also be great if I could get a little bit of powder to get started powder coating, even a quarter pound, in the same lot. Not necessary though.

    Trade list:

    Gun related:
    Home cast buckshot (000, 00, .305", #4)
55gr .224" FMJ M193 pulled bullets (do have pull marks)
6.5mm 139gr bullets, FMJ and RNSP - prvi partizan; one bag has 100, the other is around 85, can get exact count if interested
6.5mm partial boxes - Speer Hot Core 120gr, Hornady 120gr A-max, counts upon interest
.458 500gr Hornady bullets, round nose soft point, have some tarnish
    45-70 brass
    9mm brass
    5.56 brass
Small amounts of 44sp & 357 sig brass
Mec 600 loader in 12ga; very old & has a couple spots of surface rust specs, but definitely in usable condition (you'd need to add cash and/or trade value, though for a 6 cavity mold it'd be more cash to cover shipping)

    Not gun related:

MSR miniworks water filter, barely used, never in freezing weather
    Kill-a-watt meter
Nikon D200 body & batteries (you'll have to add some cash or more trade)

I might be able to spare some cast 223 from a couple of different molds, if that might help.

I appreciate the alternative; I believe that is the one Tdoor had offered as well. Unfortunately, its considerably longer than my current bullet and the lee and I dont know that it would be fully stabilized in my 1-16" twist; it probably needs more like 1-14". Current bullet is around .52" long and that RCBS bullet is .66" long. One reference I found said my 1-16" twist will stabilize to about .58". I am shooting much lower velocity than normal which works against me for stability too, so I dont want to exceed it unless I can test it out first. I KNOW .72" does not stabilize as I shot a M193 pulled bullet and had yaw evident at 50 yards.

If I cannot find a copy of the Lee mold then I may take Master Samwise up to try out a few different bullets to see what might work for me. But right now, at least on paper, the RCBS and Lyman options probably aren't going to work. The risk is high enough I don't want to commit; not when there is a viable and affordable option when I can find the mold

Will the LEE 22 Bator mould work for you?

IIRC it is a 55 gr bullet that has a round nose and is very short.
I believe the original release was for the AR 6.8 spec group. (this is not the new design shown on the Lee website)

I think I have a two cavity mould

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.

sounds like a 225415 55gr boolit would fit the bill he's after.

Bump. Still looking, thought I had a lead on one but haven't received a response. Also, I was contemplating one on eBay and was going to buy and it got sold out from under me.
