Candy Colors

So I was looking for more powder. I like the way powdercoated bullets look, so I was looking for a unique color to try. Went to Powder by the Pound, and found a color called Candy electric Blue and decided to try it. It is definitely a unique color! It is a more transparent color. But in looking at it, it does appear that it gives decent coverage. Any reason I shouldn't load these and shoot? It is for my 358 win, 230 grain bullet, and if I remember right around 12 BHN. Aiming for 2000-2100 fps.

They look very nice, the blue color reminds me of the color used for dummy 40mm granade rounds.

The gas checks in the first pic look black. Did you apply the gas checks before or after powder coating? Those boolits look great to me!

My 2016 truck is that color GM - Deep Ocean Metallic Blue. I'd shoot them.

I put the checks on before coating.

Just because some PC doesn't look like it good coverage doesn't mean it's not completely covered and good to shoot.

Sometimes you see more clear than color

I use a couple "candy" colors from Prismatic Powders and like them. As you noted they have a translucent look but coat very well. Like your color and finish, mine turn out a high gloss which I also prefer. For whatever reason, a translucent PC can appear to not give a full coat after cure, appearing almost mottled. As long as you know you have a good coat before the cure, it's there after the cure. It's all that clear owning that space on the bullet. Occasionally I'll look at a translucent finished bullet under my big lighted magnifier and the PC is there.

Most of these translucent colors are intended to be the second coat over a usually "Chrome" base coat. When done this way they won't look thin at all.
As far as shooting I don't see that to be a problem. One reason I like Prismatic Powders is I can check the hardness rating of thrir powders before I buy it. I usually go for "HB" or higher which equals 26-28 on the BHN scale.
