    Super Lube and rust

    Has anyone noticed that Super Lube seems to make metal around it rust????

    No I haven’t. Isn’t it just a light machine oil plus ptfe?

    I look at it the other way.

    The Superlube is keeping the metal under it from rusting.

    Using the grease.
    It's 100% synthetic, so I hoped it would be a good rust prevention.
    Not so much.
    Not sure why.

    Reading the label there is nothing there to suggest the benefit is to prevent rust.

    Check out Birchwood Casey Barricade Rust Protection for firearms , it was call "Sheath" years ago now it's Barricade . Living in South Louisiana rust is a constant problem ...Barricade is one of the best products on the market .. it works . I keep my hunting shotguns protected with a coat of it and it keeps the rust at bay . Not greasy or sticky either .
