Is there a link you could post for those of us without a subscription?

Be cool if S&W came out with a 6.5" .327 7 shot on an L frame. Be a great plinker.

It was a good article. I would like to see S&W come out with a 3in adj sight J frame 6 shot full underlug like the 5 shot 3in model 60 in stainless.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
3" or 4" K or L frame or GP100, 7 or 8 shot would make an awesome carry/trail gun.

I am too old now to change, but if I was starting over, this is what I would do.
Get two .327's rifles and 3-4 revolvers; a .41 Mag rifle and revolver. Alas, I am heavily invested in .38/.357's (6 pistols and 3 rifles). I must have 15k+ cast bullets for the .38/.357 as well.
For much of our shooting an 85-100 gr bullet at reduced velocity would make a great plinking round and the over 100 gr bullets would be good for coyotes and self-defence. It is an interesting cartridge.

It is far too recent so you have to subscribe to see the full article.
Thanks, dbosman, I copied the pic at the head of the article. I actually have all the same components except for the cast boolits. I haven’t worked up a load yet for my 3” SP101. I kinda want to wait until I get a rifle.
What are the pros/cons of a 16.5” vs. 20” barrel in .327 FedMag?
carolina sorillo.
Ruger's website shows that they offer the SP101 with a 3" fixed sight and 4" adjustable sight as well as a 5" GP100. They formerly offered the GP100 with a 4" and 6" barrel, so used guns are out there. I have one of each of the aforementioned guns and they are all good guns but wish that Smith and Wesson would offer the .327 in a K or L Frame.

i'v been collecting 32 H&Rs and 327 revolvers.
Been looking for 327 Carbines. But with the price of a Henry close to a grand I am afraid it's going to be a while...
Looking at a few re-barrel projects, or even re-line you are still at $500.00 - $700.00 per by the time you get the blank and have it chambered profiled, fitted, blued , installed
Easiest way to get the .327 you want is build it... For a K-frame all one needs is a 4" Model 18 barrel and cylinder or 6" Model 17 barrel... Then a Model 14 or 15 doner gun and send the package to Jack Huntington for completion...
I did a 6" Model 53 several years ago and is one of my favorite shooters.
Friend just bought one of the 631-1 3" 327s in black a few days ago... $1700... Selling prices are between $1600-1900...
Ruger will one day bring out the LCRX 3" but until things slow down don't hold your breath...
There is no reason that S&W couldn't bring out a 6-shot clone to their current 60-15 or PRO Model in .327...
