old bag of Hornady magnum chilled shot #5

Think it's lead +2% antimony but don't know about arsenic content if any. wouldn't mind using it for heat treating. my search ability sucks. Thanks in advance.

Look at chart posted on post 9, chilled shot is the last entry at the bottom. Is it magnum or chilled? Either should have sufficient arsenic content for heat treat.

Or, just try it and see what you get, look at the alloy calculator in the stickies.

If you could sell it you would come out ahead, or trade for “magnum” shot for a sweetener.

Well it's Hornady magnum chilled shot, and I can't find out what it is either. Rking is probably right, I've got 40 lbs of range scrap, unknown stuff and COWWs I can play with this shot and heat treating. Thanks gang.

I'd trade the shot for what I need first the shot is worth way more than lead ingots.

Unless there is shipping involved. I bought a 25 pound bag of shot at Sportsman's Warehouse for less than $30 tax included. Shipping to trade lead is a price killer. I bought the shot to melt it. I don't load shotshells.
