    350 Legend subsonic?

Putting together a bolt action 350 Legend.

Interested in running cast boolits subsonic.

Thinking the 240ishgr boolits should do the trick- anyone work with this before?

That 250 looks good, may have to try something similar.

There is info scattered all over this forum.

Here is another with more info that you’d never know due to the title not mentioning the 350.

I have done been having a ball with a few bullets.

All with Herco & Unique powdrs. Herco cause I dont use, its working GREAT & I have a bunch!!

NOE 360-232, NOE 358009 Clone, Arsenal 36-270c, MP 359-220 hp and new for me Saeco 352.

    I am loving 7.3g Herco and the 270g seated to 2.255 @ 1075 avg! I do see a slight tail wag @ 50. 1:16 twist.

I am shooting thru my RARR into 1.5" @ 100 and touching @ 50 with top of bottom post aim point.

Good to know thanks- I ordered a 1:14 twist barrel so maybe that will help stabilize them.

Oohnit will as even in my 1:16 Just kick it in the butt to 1150 and the tail wag holes are gone.

Where did you find a 1:14 350 Legend barrel??? I have been searching with help for months. I found two but both where out of stock and none expected for months and months. I bought a Faxon.

For me I kinda like that tell tail wiggle. I do not shoot from silencer so no baffel worries and I can be 100% it WILL TUMBLE upon hitting anything!!

    McGowen offers the 350 in a 16, 14 or 10 twist.

Looking at the 338 Spectre, most of the barrels I find are 1/6.5 to 1/7.

I would just figure you would need at least the 1/10 option for an all subsonic application.

Most European hand guns are 1/10 for the 9mm-Glock, CZ, Sig, ect.

Not messed with a 350 Legend, but have lots of experience with the 35 Rem, similar enough I suppose. Have you thought about trying good old Trail Boss? Great stuff for working up these kinds of loads.

Barrel is scheduled to arrive tomorrow so no actual data yet but stay tuned!

TB worked well in a similar project I did with the 450BM, hope it can do the same in the 350.

    Looking at this mold- thoughts?

Quite simular to the excellent RCBS 210, MP 359-220 & Saeco 352. ALL excellent proven designs.

Well the rifle is together and shooting j-words very well.

Looking at the mould posted above but now also considering one of these:

    http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_...=36-250B-D.png

    http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_...36-250BG-D.png

They taper sooner which I think will allow flexibility with the 350s short throat and I'm not restricted to an AR style mag so that isn't an issue.

I'm pretty confident the 230 will stabilize in the 1:14 barrel but a little leery of the 250s- also undecided on whether I need a gas check.

    Decisions decions...

You should NOT AT ALL have any problems with a 1:14 twist.

I can shoot a 270 & 280 accurately super sonic in my 1:16. Showing tail way when sub sonic.

My Saeco 352 is accurate and stabil from 900 fps to as fast as you can pushbit.

Good to know- are you using gas checks when running subsonic?
