Has tried or thought about adding some abrasive compounds to PC to clean up a bore? Could it work?

Might work but a Wheeler Bore Lapping Kit is only $44 @ Midway and will work for both cast and jacketed. Or, for real fine polishing, Butch's Bore Butter is even cheaper.

I was thinking of long rifle barrels.
I shoot HF Black Matte PC ( the most abrasive PC - supposedly) in my short & long guns and do not see any difference in the totally clean barrels than when shooting standard PC. Matte Black ONLY works with ESPC.
PC just keeps all barrels clean because there is not residue, grease, smoke or garbage as with standard greasy lubes. I haven's had to "Scrub" a barrel in over 7 years. Just a quick swab with Hoppes and I am done. 1st rag is generally clean!
Also - - -adding abrasives to PC will probably kill the small static charge you need for powder cling. I sure know graphite and molly do that! And ruin the plastic bowl for future use too!
If you have a gun that really needs to be cleaned, do mechanically as mentioned above.
