Help with ID thrift store find, is this a bullet swage press

the wife and i went to salvation army and i saw this machine sitting there. $5.00 later in the car it went. I was pretty excited thinking i got a Corbin type early swage press, but now i am not to sure. it is well built about 40LB. bench mounting holes. one cam has a grease fitting on top. Any information would be appreciated. Click image for larger version.

not a reloading press. the 2 rams come together to form something, maybe a grommet of some kind.

    Very cool tool.

The two rams look to close their gap by the different length of throws on the crank.

What is the method of attachment on the upper and lower ram? How do you attach a tool/die to them?

Tell us more about this apparently well built tool.

Looks more like a snap or grommet press from a high production tarp/canvas shop.

If so, there is or were dies for the different ones it could set, and a handle is missing too.

Pull the handle one way, the grommet would set, push it back, and it would come back up to eject it off the die.

It looks fresh enough to still be in production, and ya might be able to get the missing parts
to use it or sell it to a fabrication shop.

I did not recognize this. I spotted a picture with a likeness out of hundreds of photos while I was searching for “grommet press” and then “punch press”.

That's interesting. I wonder why that ended up in a thrift shop?

Most likely because whoever owned it went to jail, and whoever was left with all their stuff, gave it all away to goodwill...

Wow Gents thank you. i tried all manner of id, Google image search, with different description words, but i had no luck till now. I guess Google is not always the king of search. Yes, from the picture, this is missing the handle and what looks like the upper plate and hopper to hold material. I guess i'll put her on FB and get rid of it. Well i did buy a swager, just not the one i was hoping for. Once again everyone thank you for your help.
