Gives you a starting point...Bob
I run 8.5 grains with 225s and 8.5 will bullets like the lbt 250 lfngc. Herco is a great powder. Every bit as good as unique. In fact if anything ive had better luck with it with accuracy in the 41s 44s and 45s. Never could figure why its been the stepchild in the alliant powder line up. Sure its a bit more dirty burning but if you are a caster and have used lubed cast bullets youd know that any load will make your gun dirty. If you use pc most of the dirtiness of herco isnt an issue anymore.
Starline .41 Mag Brass: Win LP prime, 9.0 gr of Herco with RCBS' 41-210 LSWC sized 0.411" gives 1106 fps according to Quick Load in a 4.6" bbl'd Ruger BH. In my guns, this load consistently produces sub-2" groups at 25 yds from a rest.
Same load with Hornady's excellent 210 gr XTP gives a Quick Load estimation of 990 fps with the same accuracy.
Both bullets, will do equally well with 8.0 to 9.0 grain loads with no signs of excess pressure on the case nor primer.
Data source for the JHP is a '92 copy of old Hercules data. Max for a JHP is 10.3 gr of Herco, for 1320 fps & 34,800 psi. Rem 2-1/2, at 1.575" min OAL.

I settled on 9gr with a 217gr swcbb and CCi LP primers and the same under 158gr swcbb RP 1 1/2 in .357. I was surprised the same load would work for both. We'll see what BIL thinks about them. Thanx to all that answered and offered data........
