    RCBS mould conversion question...the spacers?

I received conversion kits for RCBS moulds for my MC. In it, there are very thin strips of spacer material that look like they go behind the roll pin pieces and the mould body. It seems that on my first mold that I've done, I dont seem to need them.

Anyone else have experience? I didn't see where anyone has mentioned them before.

I read through that post, and it really helped me. Maybe I'll just try to make my own key blocks from bar stock next time...I'm just not a machinist...so I'll just try it and have the Mrs laugh at me.

I believe there's a slight difference in the thickness of the mold blocks, and the shims make up the difference. This makes the mounting holes in the keys the same distance apart for both brands of molds. The theory is you won't have to adjust the guide rods on the sides to make the molds close all the way when spring tension isn't enough to bring them fully together.

    Hope this helps.
