    Buy from known brands?

    Yes. and here's why.

I received a very good paint today to test out. At the time I bought it, the paint had 20+ pounds in stock, and was very inexpensive @ just over 10 dollars a pound, shipped. So today I went back to buy more and whoosh it was all gone. Good prices are only good for a limited run if you cannot get more.

Now the seller has other paints from other brands and from the same brand I bought and liked (but in an alien green) in quantity (today) that will likely work as well as the red I liked, so should I repeat my blunder and get a pound, or buy a half dozen pounds? In for a penny, in for a (few as it happens) pound

    Live and learn.
    Regards,

    Gary

just remember not all powder will work to tumble, they all will work to spray. smoke tells you what tumbles and takes the guess work out.

A pound of powder will go a long-long-long-long way.

powders that usually work are polyester, TGIC, semi-gloss or gloss.

flat finnish whites, yellows, light colors can be problematic

Smoke's stuff is top shelf, just ask anyone who has transacted with him. I buy from Prismatic Powder for several reasons, 1) they ship overnight, might cost a bit more but hey. 2) they have 6500+ colors to choose from, and their customer service is stellar. 3) they are 110 miles away (hence the overnight) and you can see what they do and you can pick up at the store and save the shipping. You do have to order in advance so they have time to package, just plan on ordering today for pick up in two days and plan a trip to Costco or whatever big store not near the Nor CA/So OR coastal communities.

Very neat showroom, the do rims, motorcycle frames, firearms, and yes, large military equipment as big as a CAT D9, and you can pick out color swatches for free to see the product applied, not just a web page picture. If they weren't so close, I'd buy from Smoke.

80% of the people on here use powder by the pound, weather they know it or not!
Prismatic is another seller that gets used alot.
    Then some use eastwood.
Use any of those three and you will be golden.
